I misinterpret what you mean,

I overlook the obscene,

I over analyze lost dreams,

Lost track of you and me.

I gave away all of my hope,

Forgot to care and learned to cope,

I chose to be the one I know,

Learn to repress and just let go.

I fought the passion and the hurt,

Learned to play without getting burned,

I recognized but failed to see,

All things done and all that could be.

With every wish there was a chance,

Run away without looking back,

But that isn't what I want to know

It's what you yearn for but fail to show.

Because no one else cares,

No one wants to face the truth,

No one wants to change their lives,

No one wants to give up their own comfort,

No one wants to admit it is wrong

No one wants to believe it is real

No one wants to do anything about it

No one wants to get involved

No one wants to go against the norm
